Common Courtesy


Do you remember when those basic little rules were followed everywhere you went? I do, and I am not all that old to have to think back to the 16th century to do so either. Escalators come to mind... simple little escalators. When riding one if you want to stand, stand to the right. If you wish to walk up the escalator, do it on the left side. It isn't that hard. RIGHT and LEFT. We all remember the difference between right and left don't we? All these people recently seem to want to stand on the right and then other people stand on the left. effectively blocking anyone who wishes to walk ahead. Thanks guys. I didn't really have to get where I was going, no I would be all too happy to wait for your sorry ass while you just stand where ever you please like a herd of cattle on the way to the slaughterhouse. Then we get to elevators, and this also applies to subways and any other locale where you have doors. DOORS ARE NOT A HARD CONCEPT I SWEAR! If you are waiting to get into a set of doors and there are people coming out of the doors you want to go into.... wait for it.... stand to the side. Let the people off the train, elevator, out of their office, whatever it is. More and more I try to get off a train and find 30 people crowded around the open doors, standing right in front of them, as if everyone ON the train where somehow intangible. Do you think you will get on the train any faster by blocking us all? My rule is, you block me like that, you act like such a moron, you get shoved. What posses people to do that anyway? Is there something new in the water that inhibits common sense? And people wonder why more and more people are shooting each other! We are facing a huge break down of the little things, and by far they tend to have a greater effect on us than the big ones. If you cannot walk or travel without getting pissed off that everyone around you doesn't give one ounce of petrified moose testicle about anything else in their way or anyone else on this planet why shouldn't you get a gun and off them? BAH!
