Postal (2008)

Starring: Zack Ward, Dave Foley, Larry Thomas, Verne Troyer.

Description: Prepare yourself for the hilarious, laugh-packed comedy POSTAL, the irreverent and outrageous film based on the popular video game. After a clueless slacker named the Postal Dude (Zack Ward) loses his job, he joins his shady Uncle Dave (Dave Foley) and a bevy of big-breasted, scantily clad female cult followers in a scheme to steal a shipment of hot new toys. But first they must foil a band of ruthless terrorists led by none other than Osama Bin Laden and save the world from destruction in this offensive, mayhem-ridden laugh riot that threatens the very limits of common decency.

Review: This movie is absolutely hilarious. I had the pleasure of going to Tuscon, AZ and enjoying a pre-screening of this film. Uwe Boll was in attendance as well as Vince Desi (Running With Scissors CEO) and they are wonderful guys. If you have a strong pationate love for Boy George Bush then this movie isn't for you. If you can't laugh at a good poop joke then this movie isn't for you. If Mr. Verne Troyer (Mini Me, Austin Powers) being raped by a bunch of chimps doesn't put a smile on your face the this movie DEFINITELY isn't for you. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that if you don't have a sense of humor then this movie wasn't even made with you in mind and you're only setting yourself up for failure and disapointment.

Now, if however you are a fan of.....Blazing Saddles, Jay & Silent Bob, Dogma, Bill & Ted's Excellent Journy/ Bodacious Adventure then you will love this movie. It's a comedy that can be smart or childish depending on your take...

Extras: "Raging Boll": the director boxes his critics; deleted scenes; commentary by Boll; Verne Troyer as Indiana Jones; more.

Available in rated, unrated and Blu-ray Disc editions. (Vivendi Entertainment).

What Happens in Vegas (2008)

Starring: Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher, Rob Corddry, Lake Bell, Michelle Krusiec, Dennis Farina, Krysten Ritter, Jason Sudeikis, Queen Latifah, Zach Galifianakis, Treat Williams.

Description: After the wildest party night of their lives, two mismatched strangers, Jack (Ashton Kutcher) and Joy (Cameron Diaz), wake up in Vegas to discover they not only got lucky ?" they got married! The road to annulment takes a hilarious turn after Jack wins a three-million-dollar jackpot while playing Joy??s quarter and a no-nonsense judge (Dennis Miller) sentences them to six months ??hard marriage.? What follows is an all-out war of the sexes as Jack and Joy go to outrageous lengths to try and cheat each other out of the money. But in the end, they may learn that when you gamble on love, you just might win, against all odds!

Review: "What Happens in Vegas" is not an insightful or intelligent movie, but it actually works. It's a juvenile romantic comedy, perfect for those who like their love stories a little on the immature side. Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz play their roles like teenagers trapped in adult bodies, spending most of the film as spouses scheming to make each other's life a living hell. An uncredited Queen Latifah plays a marriage therapist who says the two were made for each other, despite having individual issues that need to be worked out. I immediately replayed the events of the film in my head and realized she was right; one is the other's emotional equal, and both will willingly do what it takes to make sure they come out on top. While none of this makes for a funny movie, and while the story is completely predictable, it was still interesting to watch these characters interact with one another...more
