Review:
A thoroughly
enjoyable parade of chuckles (and, sometimes, embarrassing movie theater snorts)
from beginning to end, "Blades of Glory" is well worth the price of admission
and hour and a half of your time. Will Ferrell has not hid a roadblock yet,
continuing in stride with yet another solid showcase for his comedic chops. Jon
Heder really clinches it all with his less-is-more approach to comedy and
androgynous antics...more

EN 5 Second Review:
Ricky Bobby on Ice, in other words a hilariously Bad
Movie. That doesn't mean you shouldn't see it, but we are waiting for
the dvd and the extras.
Ferrell
is playing Ricky Bobby on Ice with a lot of the same obvious and
predictable gags, but it succeeds best when it takes advantage of its
talented cast and lets them do their thing Edward Douglas: ComingSoon.net
Ferrell's fans are fairly rabid and they'll be glad to see
him doing something a bit more like his physical comedies, so expect a
lot of people to pick this movie on Friday night and for it to do very
well opening weekend even if it doesn't surpass the opening of Talladega
Nights...more
Everything
about the plot, and in a movie like this you use the word
loosely, is just an excuse to give Ferrell a reason to riff Bill Goodykoontz: Arizona Republic
One day some enterprising company will probably package
Ferrell's sillier comedies together for a boxed DVD set. It
has its moments, but Blades of Glory probably won't
be the first one of the bunch you watch...more
The
plot isn't much, but that's OK: The directing team of Will
Speck and Josh Gordon throw their jokes at the wall in rapid
succession, and most of them stick Rafer Guzman: Newsday
The cleverest stunt in "Blades of Glory" doesn't come on
ice, but in the movies very concept. How do you make a
knucklehead comedy for dudes, complete with vomit and
jock-strap jokes, about the sequin-spangled world of figure
skating?...more
