members Julia Stiles and Joan Allen and new additions David Strathairn, Paddy
Considine and Edgar Ramirez.
All he wanted was to disappear. Instead, Jason Bourne is now hunted by the
people who made him what he is. Having lost his memory and the one person he
loved, he is undeterred by the barrage of bullets and a new generation of
highly-trained killers. Bourne has only one objective: to go back to the
beginning and find out who he was.
Now, in the new chapter of this espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past
in order to find a future. He must travel from Moscow, Paris, Madrid and London
to Tangier and New York City as he continues his quest to find the real Jason
Bourne--all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of cops, federal officers
and Interpol agents with him in their crosshairs
EN 5 Second Review:
This weeks summer blockbuster, Matt keeps the Bourne
franchise going strong.
One Minute
Review by Peter Veugelaers
The Bourne Ultimatum’s
(2007) quick fire editing and frenetic fast pace throughout following
the quest of secret agent Jason Bourne to uncover the truth about his
identity working for a government department sets up a naturalistic
style of filmmaking which tricks the viewer into believing what we’re
seeing is true – a governmental conspiracy yarn where the villains look
like they have been borrowed from real life. Bourne, as played by Matt
Damon, has a vulnerability and intensity which works to get you on his
side. The plotting is not understated but played out and performed with
a seriousness as if a time bomb was about to explode.
"A
knockout roller-coaster ride custom-made for adrenaline
junkies, it’s easily the savviest and most satisfying spy movie in
years, besting both of its preceding Bournes" Rex Reed: NY Observer
The first 20 minutes of The Bourne Ultimatum, the
third and final chapter in the trilogy about the baby-faced C.I.A.
operative with amnesia, are better than Transformers,
Pirates of the Caribbean I, II and III, and
anything with Bruce Willis all put together...more
"Matt
Damon is smarter and tougher than ever in his third 'Bourne'
outing" Wesley Morris: Boston Globe
The ‘‘Bourne’’ series makes for an unusual action franchise.
All the movies are exhilarating, including the third
installment, ‘‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’’ which opens tonight
and leaves a bruise. Part of what makes them so good is that
they’re all-inclusive...more
"It's
frenetic to the point of crazy while achieving a mark that
barely exceeds mediocre." Stephen Hunter: Washington Post
No medium as thin as language can capture the snare-drum
riffs that propel "The Bourne Ultimatum" along faster than
the speed of sound, light and thought. It's not a movie,
it's a trip through a gun barrel at the head of a cloud of
exploding gas, and you end up splattered against a wall,
then sliding into the dust with the sound of the drums
ringing in your head for hours...more
