Plot Summary: From the Academy Award-winning creators of "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc." and "Finding Nemo," comes this hilarious action-packed animated adventure about superheroes. Bob Parr used to be one of the world's greatest superheroes (known to all as "Mr. Incredible"), saving lives and fighting evil on a daily basis. But now fifteen years later, Bob and his wife (a famous superhero in her own right) have adopted civilian identities and retreated to the suburbs to live normal lives with their three kids. Now he's a clock-punching insurance claims adjuster fighting boredom and a bulging waistline. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment. - Take a pot shot but be warned.

  You cannot beat the old form style (of saving the world), in effect what a Government official tells his companion in The Incredibles, which treats its subject matter with a James Bond exotica, including bent villains, and a cartoonish treatment of a Superman ethos (“Truth, justice and the American way”) coupled with superhero dynamics. But praising the old form, meaning traditional and proven methods are better, is an exaggeration: the frenzied climax, where comic book style good and evil superhero muscles, pit against each other, did not capture the imagination of this reviewer, albeit coming after a smart, funny and stylish beginning and middle. The end result is more tedium than excitement...more

- Who said they don't make 'em like they used to?

Pixar Pictures has an impressive back-catalogue of features including the audience friendly Toy Story series and last years biggest box-office hit, Finding Nemo. The ever improving financial success of the company’s output, and the fact that they are yet to suffer a box-office flop, meant that some members of the L.A community were sharpening their knives in anticipation of the first slip-up, but it is my pleasure to report that The Incredibles is one superhero movie that really earns it’s lyrca costume...more
