Review: Eddie Murphy is
hilarious playing characters we all know we have seen before, some in our own
families!! Ha! Rasputia is the bomb with all of her hair styles, she is just as
fine as she thinks she is (confident heavy woman) You go girl! She was mean, but
she got hers in the end. Eddie won me over again with this one. And Marlon
Wayans is GREAT!...more

Plot Summary: Norbit (Eddie Murphy) has never
had it easy. As a baby, he was abandoned on the steps of a Chinese
restaurant/orphanage and raised by Mr. Wong (Eddie Murphy). Things get worse
when he's forced into marriage by the mean, junk food-chugging queen, Rasputia
(Eddie Murphy). Just when Norbit's hanging by his last thread, his childhood
sweetheart, Kate (Thandie Newton), moves back to town. In the comedy "Norbit,"
he'll find that nice guys sometimes finish first.
EN 5 Second Review:
We find Eddie funny in everything, especially a dress
and a fat suit.
"Norbit"
is a delightfully hilarious romp that will make you laugh ’til you cheer David Foucher: Edge Boston A laugh-fest that as completely riotous
as it is ridiculous. Director Brian Robbins keeps the pace up, clearly
permitting Murphy creative license, and screenplay writers Jay Scherick
and David Ronn keep the cracks coming - although I’m willing to bet that
Murphy’s innate comedian is responsible for Rasputia’s repetitive "How
YOU Doin’" tagline, sure to be dropping from the mouths of teenagers
everywhere in the next few months...more
The
script doesn’t serve Murphy’s multi-character talents in the
way he deserves. Steve Davis: Austin Chronicle
If you don’t appreciate the vulgar
pleasures of broad comedy, the ongoing fat joke in Norbit
will likely strike you as misogynistic and mean-spirited,
which may not be too far off the mark.....more
