Review:
Wild Hogs is a
typical midlife crisis movie. Four men, who have been friends for years and who
suit up in leather and ride to the local bar and grill regularly to hang out,
suddenly wonder what happened to their lives. They all realize, one by one, that
they've hit middle age and fallen into a rut, and they decide to take a cross
country trip on their bikes to get out of it...more

Plot Summary: Tim Allen, John Travolta,
Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy hit the road in this rollicking
comedy-adventure about a group of middle-aged friends who decide to rev up their
routine suburban lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Taking a long
dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, they
can't wait to feel the freedom of the open road.
When this mis-matched foursome, who have grown far more used to the couch than
the saddle, set out for this once-in-a-lifetime experience - they encounter a
world that holds far more than they ever bargained for. The trip begins to
challenge their wits and their luck, especially during a chance run-in with the
Del Fuegos, a real-life biker gang who are less than amused with their novice
approach.
As they go looking for adventure, they soon find that they've embarked on a
journey they will never forget.
EN 5 Second Review:
Disney delivers family formula fun that is at times
funny, and at other times hard to understand the point of making a movie
that is a bunch of jokes thrown together so loosely that you cant keep
up with any semblance of a plot.
It's
the kind of movie where you don't go in expecting anything but a fun
ride, and that's exactly what you get. Pete Hammond: Maxim
A 40-year-old guy's ultimate fantasy movie. That about
describes Wild Hogs, a sometimes hysterically funny comedy that
is essentially City Slickers on bikes. When paunchy John
Travolta must get out of town, he convinces his three pals to go with
him on a motorcycle adventure in which they throw all caution—and their
cell phones—to the wind...more
Too
many speed bumps slow the comic pace Sam Adams: LA Times
The open road ain't what it used to be. From Horace
Greeley to "Little Miss Sunshine," Americans have been
finding themselves on the journey west, seeking uncharted
territory they can call their own. But the landscape of
"Wild Hogs" is cluttered with the comic equivalent of
suburban sprawl, an endless cyclorama of rehashed jokes and
whiny complaint...more
Trailing
dust and reeking of desperation, here comes the even lamer,
stupider, sadder "Wild Hogs" Steven Hunter: Washington Post
The gags are witless and surprisingly gross (insect
splatter, feces disposal bags, inadvertent homosexual come-ons
and the like). The four actors, each accustomed to being at
the center, never develop any rhythm, any chemistry, any
anything..more
