Patience" was the most successful of
the songs on the Lies release, and became a massive hit. The album however was
plagued (or blessed) by controversy due to the song "One in a Million." The
lyrics included racial slurs and "homophobic remarks," in the words of
protesters. The controversy only fueled album sales however, as the album went
on to sell over 5 million copies. The album is a must have for fans of GNR

Album Review: GN'R Lies is,
essentially, an EP collection. The first four songs are the
independently-released Live Like A Suicide EP. This was released in 1986, so
this material actually predates the Appetite For Destruction album. Basically
it's straight-up, angry hard rock as only GN'R could shell out. By far, the
highlight of the Suicide EP is the cover of the old Aerosmith classic, Mama Kin.
That's not to say the other songs aren't good, though...more
